You wouldn’t think it’d be relocated to the road outside your favorite bar. Just a few more months [they say] and the road reconstruction will be finished. [Later] At last… the Allies have taken out the pillboxes. [Even Later] Now the secondary pillboxes have opened fire, with reinforcements. Damn. At least the Owner and his wife are here now [this usually means there's an evening Shark's game].
Other News: That failed sale yesterday? Someone else is interested today. For a higher price. So far, hope is justified.
Related News: Sale happened at work today, which was nice. Still no payment on that eBay sale though.
Anyways.
Been doing some minor editing to my personal website lately. Nothing major, but a few subtle things here and there; mostly pruning links sprinkled with a privacy file and disclaimer statements. There’s a whole section I’d like to prune down, but I think that’ll require a good long sit-down at my desktop.
Ugh. More problems…..

… Sale.
I almost sold something today. Unfortunately, the guy backed out about an hour beforehand. Slightly irksome, but it leaves open the possibility of getting more [or less] for the item. At least I found out ahead of time, instead of waiting on a street corner wondering what the F is going on, waisting money on a cell phone call.
I do, however, have a potential sale of something else tomorrow. I was even contacted within a few hours of the ad going “live”. All I have to do is remember to bring it into work and make sure my showmanship is tiptop…
If only a third guy would pay me for what he purchased. Very annoying. A few more days and I’ll “Unpaid Item” the deal, see where that eventually takes me.
In related news, working on my “business” continues to be fun. Scripting policies and form letters to fit different situations, hashing out potential logos, going through a business plan… it’s nice to have an ongoing activity such as this.
Anyways.
Slowly but surely.
All this to George Michael too. Heheheheheh….

Discovering your webhosting company allows you to do your own .htaccess is kinda cool.

I make it to my favorite bar with the intention of enjoying some Sunday Time in an establishment I enjoy [people I know, free wifi that's not bothersome, 6 televisions for distraction]. I walk in on a football gathering.
Surprisingly, I don’t mind; even the loud fans that make explosive exclamation during any fumble or touch-down — regardless of team.
I make progress on a few things, which is nice. Not everything, of course, but that happens rarely.
I even got to re-connect with a bartender I haven’t seen in a long while [my change in habit]. Never mind that he has a name similar to that of a musician at Acropolis.
I also caught up with someone I haven’t seen in a while [again, due to change in my habit]. Apparently, his business is being battled upon by a Florida governmental person; I recently read an article about this, so was able to make intelligent conversation about this. Unfortunately, this person has lost hair about this [literally; think Marge Simpson]… but I hope he prevails.

My reputation at the bar, plus my recent preference to bring my laptop around for the free wifi, has lead to the bartender today asking me too look up band-related information for him. It appears to be a time-limited request for help.
I actually don’t mind being Johnny-On-The-Spot. I’ve enjoyed it in the past. Beware the doormat, however; Johnny stops liking you when you darken the Welcome.
Not sure if internet galleries are worth it. I can’t seem to disable the picture-stealing capabilities [my 1:2 main gripes]. Not so much a big deal if I let it all go, as it was an experiment anyways; heheheheheheh I guess it’s a good thing I’m not short with a funny hat.
About The Back End: eBay’s new closing fees suck. 12%? Golden Cow! I’m on the trend of Amazon -> eBay -> CraigsLIst because of all this heavy fee stuff. I think it’s about time I finished configuring my e-commerce site — at least I could post stuff there as long as I wanted; a template-type thing for posting elsewhere.
It is nice to get rid of stuff, and get paid for it.
And here I am watchin’ Pimp and Oreo talkin’ on Sports Center.

It still amazes me how much effort it takes to post items for sale.
This is regardless of where I post; eBay, CraigsList, the company ads…
Let me explain.
I want to describe the item I plan to sell. I mean to give the potential customer the information s/he needs to make a decision. Quality, condition, dimensions, technical specifications… you know, the information a seller morally needs to supply to potential customers. This works, and my customers have personally thanked me for it before and long, long after the sale.
But then there’s the process of posting online. Golly… it’s still time consuming. Don’t bother talking about how “There’s all these automated posting-for-you programs!”. Yea; they come out… automated for problems. Do it right, do it yourself.
At any rate, I’m still posting stuff for sale. Not as much as a year ago, but still. It’s a good feeling, despite the hassles that crop up. It helps to employ alternate means of disposal when things don’t work out. It also helps to try doing this during my time at the bar after work.
::Other Notes::
- There’s actually real rain in California.
- There are actually Republicans in Massachusetts.
- I may just be starting to remember the “new” bartender’s name.
Just about time to head home, and there have been three customer laptops in the bar today that I know of.
