I gave Fake Boss a few days since Monday, her return from vacation. Left a voice message which I let sound frustrated again, oops again. Oh well.
2nd shift is in fact dying, officially at least, tomorrow [Thursday]. However. The hours of this new One Shift schedule is 10a to 8p. Uh, hm. I want to see if I can come in at Noon, and have my coworker pick up the first two hours each day. Next week I also am taking some time off [a few hours here, a day there] for various reasons [my fight to keep a life outside of work until work gets outside my life at the end of May]. Oh yea — for now, it seems that two-day weekends are back as well. Just in time to walk out the door, heheheheheh.

Real Boss and I came into contact and after a discussion we agreed to a letter of recommendation and information exchange. Tomorrow, my fake boss returns from vacation and that conversation shall continue — I hope.
New glasses received. Am unsure if I should go back in to have the frames adjusted.
New printer arrived. It works with Windows XP. I shall, at some point — hopefully soon — try this new printer with Ubuntu. When I have the time, patience and alcohol.
Potential lead with what to do with my olde printer.

Still no word from the Real Boss on what he wants to talk about regarding my recommendation letter request. I left him another vm today for good measure, but I don’t want to piss him off. My Fake Boss comes back to work on Monday, so we’ll see who gets back to me first.
The post office. Who the hell else leaves a box marked ‘fragile’ hanging from the doorknob by a flimsy rubber band? I swear: it’s either this or toss it over the side of the 5-ft patio fence. Forget about leaving the box at the apartment complex office, where there’s none of this dexterous gravity gambling. Or have I been watching too many ‘Soprano’ episodes in a row? Which, by the way, I’ve been doing at work — which is so busy anyway.
I fixed one of the recent add-ins to my website so that it works. It’s a mild hack-job from behind the scenes, but it works.
Lost some sleep over legit anxiety regarding my application to grad skool. I hope that my failings on one of the requirements can be smoothed over in an interview or something. I wonder if L/M is hiring…

Real boss wants ‘to talk to me about this’ recommendation letter thing. Has yet to get back to me. Fake boss, right after request sent, went on vacation until 28April. Have followed up with that one with another email stating her deadline for talking to me and so forth. Until something happens, holding pattern.

Teaching people stuff is cool. Go me.

1March for end of second shift is now On Email. The Chief Asshole actually seems to be standing up to what he stood up to; this is a rarity. It is theorized that perhaps the Chief Asshole is coming to realize that he needs as friends the people he’s vastly pissing off. Still looking out for pies, just in case it’s all lies.
Scanning continues. Two folders left.
April is not a good month for money. Personally funding the war, several large purchases. still eating out too much [damn me]… it’s up to May to me better. After that, income goes out the window.

Process for a new pair of glasses has begun. 30m of my time not including wait period. Impressive.
Airline tickets purchased for a trip. This defines my latest possible day of work as being 30May08.
One folder left of ‘Critical: Critical’ documents to scan. Once completed, this shall mark the half-way point of this part of this project. Next portion shall consist of ‘Serious: Critical’ documents to be scanned.
Desired & Required [abridged]:
- Day off for a birthday; discussions with coworker and knowledge of the future are necessary
- At least a partial day off for a concert involving a favorite band [and tickets therefore as well]; discussions with coworker and knowledge of the future are necessary
- The Truth for 1May cessation of 2nd Shift, and consequences thereof; severe action on my part is prepared for as best as possible. This has influences to the above two bullet points should it go terribly wrong.
- Both of my bosses to be back in their office so that they may decide and work upon my requests for recommendation letters. One is on vacation [damn her] and the other is on travel [he is excused, for now].
- Further preperations for the moving of Stuff.
- Further preperations for above-mentioned trip.

Sent in an application, online, for grad school. I followed up by sending out requests for letters of recommendation to both of my bosses. I can’t wait for them to start calling me in surprise. “What do you mean you’ve been telling me this for the past 12 months?!?”
I also asked that the one recommendation letter I already have be mailed directly; I also asked that source regarding official transcripts.
During searching for the application fee, I found that there is a discrepency for how long the application essay should be: 500 words vs 3-5 pages. Guess which I did. That’s not the kind of ‘interesting’ that I want. The fee is waved for online application.
My empty time at work allows me to do all this, “and more”. I even developed three blisters within an inch-and-a-half — with blood, yay! On my dominant hand’s thumb and crux, no less. Not due to what you’d think either, though the politics around here has a lot of that going on.
I followed up with a moving company to get a reasonable amount of my stuff [the stuff in storage; other stuff maybe or not, by the same method or not, now or later] to the west coast.
Now I await responses. I feel somewhat better about all this.

College friend visiting, Good. Having to work whislt friend twiddles in my apartment, Bad.
Getting taxes ready for mailing, “Good”. Price tag, Bad + Ugly can I kill someone.
Continuing to try to figure out when to quit and getting ready to do so, Good. New requirements for quitting popping up left and right, Bad and getting Ugly.
